I’m sure everyone who grew up in Weirton remembers the Marland Heights Pool. This was the favorite hangout in our days and we would like to make it a favorite one for our children and grandchildren. Well the committee of Marland Heights Pools Association is trying to save the pool. They are leasing the pool from the Weirton Park and Recreation Board and all proceeds from any fund raisers such as dances, selling of books, car shows and brick sales, goes directly to the pool for the renovation. The money that we have colleted so far has been put to good use. The wiring of the shelters have been brought up to code, security lights have been added and many more outlets for roasters, coffee pots, slow cookers etc. The public restrooms have been up dated and are ready for public use. The grounds have been cleaned up by pulling out old shrubs and bushes and planting new ones, weeding, new mulch and Amethyst rock have been put around several flower beds and painting of several areas. Most of the work is done by volunteers. We are presently selling bricks to help with the cost of getting the pool it self up and operating. By the grace of God if we sell enough bricks that will happen next year. The Bricks are selling for $50.00 for a 4″ x 8″ and an 8″ x 8″ are $75.00. This pays for the engraving and the shipping. You may have anything you want engraved on the brick. Some examples are: In loving memory of: Jane Doe 1944 – 2015 or Thanks for the memories from Jane Doe class of 1960 or Wishing you success with the pool John Doe etc. Any one interested may contact Kay Mortimer at 304-670-4080 or put your information down on a sheet of paper: Name of purchaser, size of brick and what you want engraved on the brick and send it along with a check made out to M H C Pool Association. to: Kay Mortimer, 3937 Palisades Drive, Weirton WV 26062. We would like to place an order soon. Any question feel free to call me,

Thanks goes out to all that have donated thier time, those that have already bought bricks and ones that have contributed monetarily it is greatly appreciated.
